ARE LINERS SAFE?

Hey, it’s your body and you want to make the best decisions for it. We get that. To give you the best answers to all of your questions, we asked the experts.

One we hear a lot is “Is it bad to wear panty liners every day?” According to Prof. Dr. Werner Mendling, Specialist in Gynecology and Obstetrics, Germany, it’s perfectly safe to use liners for:

  • Daily underwear protection and when travelling
  • Natural discharge or sweat
  • Discharge in pregnancy
  • Protection before, during and after a period
  • Any moisture-related irritation

Numerous clinical studies have been conducted to prove panty liners are extremely safe. Even after daily use, it does not cause any clinically significant changes in a woman’s intimate area.

Newly-designed panty liners are preferred because of the better performance and comfort (this applies particularly to air permeable products, like CAREFREE® daily panty liners). You can even wear them under the tightest of jeans and nobody but you will know!

You should change your panty liner regularly. Ideally, it must be done every 4 hours, although, in some cases, the frequency will depend on individual needs.

General intimate hygiene also includes keeping an eye on your vaginal discharge. Keep in mind that the amount and color of discharge vary for every menstrual cycle. For example, the mucous can be heavier and thicker, but often clearer, during the ovulation period.

If the discharge suddenly smells odd, its color changes or it itches or stings, you should consult your gynecologist.
